Napoleon Hill – Success Principal #13 – Cosmic Habit Force

I have been writing, lately, about the difference in how successful people think.  I have stated over and over again that they are wired differently.  They think differently.  Spending time with Napoleon Hill’s Success Principals has, probably, been more beneficial to me than to you.  I can’t express to you how much I have enjoyed listening to Napoleon Hill’s video series.  Because of this time I have spent listening to him, his writings have come alive for me.  I know his speech patterns, his voice, and the way he looks.  Now, as I am reading his book it is as if he is reading it to me.  It makes it more real for me.  I can see how Bob Proctor has spent his life studying “Think and Grow Rich”.  It never grows old.  I have always been a reader, but I read something and then go on to the next.  I know, now, that the goal of reading and studying “Think and Grow Rich” daily will keep me focused on the proper “Cosmic Habit Force”.

I believe, we all absorb information in our own way and time frame.  We have to fertilize the soil in our minds for it to be ready to accept the seeds of knowledge so it can mature and bear fruit.  What is fertilizer?  Yep, it is crap. Often times, it is the crap in our life that gives us the contrast to know what we want.  It is the crap that gives us the fuel to desire change and to escape the negative things that we attracted into our lives.  I have had many “aha” moments lately.  That is why, I believe, a habit of self improvement is so important to our growth in life.  It can, truly, enrich our life’s journey!

Today’s 10 minute video is the last in this series.  This one brings it all together as Napoleon Hill talks about Cosmic Habit Force. I have had my times of being locked into hypnotic rhythm.  Have you?  It was a prison cell of my own making. But, unlike other prison cells, I have been the one, standing there with the key to mine in my hand the entire time.

We are the only ones that can open those prison cells we create in our lives and fly to the destinations of our choice by using the natural law of Cosmic Habit Force.  It takes self discipline to watch and manage our thoughts.  Only self discipline can keep us out of the clutches of hypnotic rhythm.

I hope you have enjoyed this video series as much as I have.  If you feel so inclined, leave me a comment.  It would be wonderful to hear your feedback.  If you think that your network of “peeps” would enjoy it feel free to pass this blog around!  🙂

hey whats up man. interesting blog you got there. i was watching this video, but didn’t fully quite understand what he was saying so decided to google it and see if anyone wrote about it.
i am also a student of napoleon hills work, along with other self improvement material. i lost count how many times i read think and grow rich (although i sometimes neglect certain chapters and read more of the ones that i feel are more important) its funny because i also have been listening to napoleon hills law of success principles and i hear his voice speak to me as i read. totally agree that every time you read his book its a new experience. when i first read think and grow rich, i understood the concepts but didnt realize the significance or importance of the principles stated. until very recently, i really started getting it..i still have so much more to learn..but its like i’m finally understanding how to put the principles to use. when i first started out and for the past 1.5 years, i would apply success principles like visualization, six steps, auto suggestion, etc etc with absolute no faith whatsoever..when i understood the importance of emotions and how the subconscious mind is only affected by our emotions, i still had the problem of not being able to get myself to believe that i will attract my goal. then..i got an epiphany on the power of desire and sex transmutation.. and its crazy how something i think is of little importance is in fact extremely important. but anywho..i wish now to attract into my life people that have more than me..i never really understood the power of having realy good friends with you. all my friends in my opinion bring me down. they sort of talk me out of these philosophies..i’m still a beginner at this…and am glad i came upon your site!

hey, i also had a question about sex transmutation
does that mean to not ejaculate and abstain from any form of sex all together? also..are you supposed to get “horny” and then shift your mind into your definiteness of purpose? please letme know =]!

Very good question. I think you would be best served to read Napoleon Hill’s chapter 11, The Mystery of Sex Transmutation again and again. He says that most accomplished men have a strong sex drive which they learn to control. It’s a basic human need. He talks about the success of men who have strong wives behind them. He says, “The desire for sexual expression is by far the strongest and most impelling of all the human emotions, and for this very reason this desire, when harnessed and transmuted into action, other than that of physical expression may raise on to great accomplishment.” He also talks about sex being nature’s stimulant. I don’t think abstaining is what he had in mind. Perhaps not letting the desire for sex run our lives…harnessing it to other creative endeavors. I think he is talking about taking that sexual energy and changing it to accomplish extraordinary things. This is a chapter which needs to be read and re-read many times. Bob Proctor has spent a lifetime studying Mr. Hill’s work and look how far it has taken him! There are many nuggets of knowledge in it. In the end, it’s a matter of personal interpretation. Good luck on your quest. It’s always an interesting journey.

I applaud you! You’ve started a journey which will take you to great heights if you continue, every year, building on your knowledge you are attaining. I think “Think and Grow Rich” is one of the most important self discovery books that has ever been written. I have found that we absorb as much as our mind and our belief system can handle. As we mature our belief system grows and changes and we are able to handle more empowering beliefs. This is why it is so important to reread this wonderful material….just like you are doing. When the timing is right for you to absorb some of the chapters you haven’t seen as important before, they will start to appear to you as more interesting, beneficial, and something you want to reread. I’m proud of you and your efforts to succeed by filling your mind with “good stuff”! Keep it going and feel free to stop by any time for a read.

OH yes, and also, i was reading the chapter on auto suggestion today and i was always a little confused about the six steps. i never was able to discuss this with anyone but i’m so glad i’m able to discuss it with you! when he says, “see yourself rendering the service, or delivering the merchandise you intend to give in return for this money” what if you have no idea how you’re going to get it? lets just say my goal is to achieve 4000$ on january 1, 2012 and i have absolute faith that i’m going to get this money but i don’t know how. isn’t that enough to 100% believe you will receive a plan to obtain 4000$? did he write “see yourself rendering the service” to raise your belief? please share your thoughts!

If you don’t know where the money is going to come from, the visualization can’t center around the source of it. It’s still possible to emotionally seeing yourself receiving the money without having to be exact on what services are provided to get it. It’s okay to leave yourself open to allow the universal mind to communicate with you and show you the way to achieve the outcome.

You’re so right on! Napoleon Hill’s work has made a big difference in my life. Our world would be a far different place if more people would study and apply his teachings. Thanks for your comment.
