The 3 Things You Must Do to Create A Success Breakthrough!

It is in the genetic make up of human beings to always want more.  That is a fact that I learned in my high school economics class.  The fact of always wanting more is what keeps us, as a race, moving forward and progressing.  Since it is in our genetic make up, why is it that some people are more successful than others?

I would imagine, if I stood out on a street corner with a microphone in my hand and asked people passing by what success means to them, I would get a different definition from everyone.  Some of those definitions would fall into certain categories, such as having lots of money, successful relationships and good health. 

What makes some people very successful and others seem to flounder?  Everyone seems to have the same tools in which to tap into to reach that success available to them.  Why do some people follow through and become successful and others don’t?

Some people would say it is fear that holds people back.  Over achievers will tell you that they probably have more fear than the average person.  Is it the things people choose to fear?  The less successful person fears doing what it takes to succeed.  They fear failure.  They fear success.  The over achiever may have the same fears, but the over riding fear for them is not succeeding at all.  They use their fear as a call to action.  Their fear moves them forward.

A successful person doesn’t just wake up one morning and say to themselves, “Today I am going to be successful.”  Their journey to success may have had some rocky times.  They might have hit rock bottom.  Many success stories have that element of rock bottom to their stories. 

I believe one crucial element to a person’s success is the ability to pick themselves up as many times as it takes to finally succeed.  Successful people have breakthroughs.  They set up habits that create those breakthroughs.  Here are three things that will help create your own success breakthrough.

1.  Get very clear on the reasons you want to be successful.  You must be able to answer the question, “Why is this a must for me?” That clarity will be found in what upsets you and what excites you.

2.  Create ritual success habits.  Breakthroughs happen by conditioning our minds.  Do something every day to condition your mind and body.  Read something, visualize your goals, exercise, etc.  Start out with just one thing and do it over and over until it becomes a habit.  It takes 28 days to form a habit. Doing one thing will create momentum.

3.  Find someone that has succeeded at what you want to do and model yourself after them.  As Abraham Lincoln said, “That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.”  Our minds respond well to role models.  By modeling, you will discover the habits, thoughts and actions that created their success.

Anthony Robbins has a great quote.  He says, “There is a powerful driving force inside every human being that once unleashed can make any vision, dream, or desire a reality.”
